Un aforismo de Quran:
And (as for) those who disbelieve, their deeds are like the mirage in a desert, which the thirsty man deems to be water; until when he comes to it he finds it to be naught, and there he finds Allah, so He pays back to him his reckoning in full; and Allah is quick in reckoning; / Or like utter darkness in the deep sea: there covers it a wave above which is another wave, above which is a cloud, (layers of) utter darkness one above another; when he holds out his hand, he is almost unable to see it; and to whomsoever Allah does not give light, he has no light.

Y (como) los infieles, sus obras son como un espejismo en un desierto, que el hombre sediento considere el agua, hasta que cuando llega a él le resulta ser nada, y allí se encuentra Dios, por lo que Paga de nuevo a él sus cálculos en su totalidad, y Alá es rápido en ajustar cuentas; / O como la oscuridad absoluta en las profundidades del mar: allí se cubre una ola por encima del cual es otra onda, por encima del cual es una nube, (capas de) una completa oscuridad por encima de otro, cuando se tiende la mano, que es casi incapaz de verlo, y a quien Dios no le da la luz, no tiene luz.
